We don't sell anything — we point you to manufacturers and trusted retailers, and we earn a small commission when you buy through some of our links. Here's the part that matters: that commission has zero influence on what we recommend or how we rank it.
Our matching engine scores devices only on fit: how well they match your budget, brew style, batch size, skill level, and brand preferences — and we never recommend gear you already own. Whether a product earns us a commission is never an input. A device with no affiliate program can — and does — outrank one that pays us.
Nothing buys its way onto this site. We add gear only when respected, independent reviewers consistently rate it well for a specific use case. If experts pan it, it isn't here — no matter who makes it.
Every product page links to the expert review or reviewer behind the recommendation, so you can read the original reporting and judge for yourself. We summarize; we don't replace doing your own homework on a big purchase.
We don't accept payment from manufacturers for placement, higher scores, or favorable write-ups. We don't run sponsored "reviews." Brands cannot pay to appear, move up, or stay listed.
When you answer the matching questions, we score every device on a 0–100 scale across the dimensions you actually told us you care about. Each dimension carries a fixed, public point weight — and we only count the ones you fill in, so your score is always normalized to what you said matters:

This is how we keep the site free and independent. We add these links after deciding what to recommend — never before — and we link to the best option for you even when it pays us nothing. If a product is right for you but has no affiliate program, we still send you straight to where you can buy it.
Our catalog is hand-curated, not auto-generated. For each category we read across independent expert reviews, professional barista resources, and long-term owner feedback, then include only the devices that earn consistent praise for a clear use case. We record each pick's strengths, trade-offs, key specs, and the source behind the recommendation. We revisit the catalog as new gear is reviewed and older models are discontinued.

Your questionnaire answers stay in your browser and are not sent to analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate page-view statistics, including which product pages visitors view. Our analytics integration strips URL query strings and fragments, does not add persistent visitor IDs of its own, and skips browsers signaling Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
Quiz-completion and purchase-click analytics are currently disabled. Analytics is also disabled in our development and attached preview builds. Following a purchase link takes you to a separate website; Fellow affiliate links also pass through its attribution provider, whose privacy practices apply.
